In collaboration with ArabHardware and Orange Egypt, GBarena created a Ramadan event for both 2020 and 2021 for two of the most popular mobile games, PUBG Mobile (2020), and Free Fire (2021) with a 50,000 EGP prize pool each. A campaign was also made for Orange to promote both events, so here is a brief look on how each of them went in detail.
Ramadan 2020 (PUBG Mobile):
The 2020 Ramadan event, El-La3eeb Ramadan Cup, consisted of 7 tournaments, of which 6 were qualifiers. Those qualifiers had an average of 1646 registrations each.
To break down all the numbers that this event has scored, the participation would be the first to mention. This event had over 10,400 registrations, and over 3,900 of those registered players were ones who checked in to the tournaments.
Secondly, the reach. GBarena had the event promoted all over social media, which did in fact get the event over 29,000 total social media reach. The plan did not stop there, GBarena created an event page for El-La3eeb Ramadan Cup that had over 2,400 views, and a mega banner for it that was pinned on GBarena’s homepage.
The event did not only reach Orange users, but it did in fact reach users of all other mobile operators, that even Vodafone users were more than the participants that were Orange users. Even Etisalat almost matched Orange with the number of participants.
Ramadan 2021 (Free Fire):
The 2021 Ramadan Free Fire event had 5 qualifiers leading to the final tournament. Each of the qualifiers had an average of 187 participants. The event concluded with over 980 participants, of which over 476 were unique participants.
As for the reach, an event page was created for the event that got over 6,280 page views. The tournament pages also got high reach as they collectively got over 32,200 page views.
Both events covered all Egypt, with all mobile operators users, focusing on mobile gamers, of course. With a prize pool of 50,000 EGP each, the events concluded crowning 3 winners each, and maintaining an annual habit for an Orange event to take place every Ramadan on GBarena.
